What is monthly billing?
Frequently asked questions
Why Choose a Monthly Billing?
At Ecofix Gas & Power, we believe it's important for you to always know exactly what you're dealing with. You use energy every day, so why not get a clear overview of it every month? In this blog, we'll explain why a monthly billing can be a smart choice.
Monthly Billing in Brief: A monthly bill for your energy consumption simply means that you receive a monthly statement based on your actual usage. No big surprises afterward, but a clear overview, every month again.
💡 Why Choose a Monthly Billing?
Always Up-to-Date: You don’t have to wait for an annual statement to see your consumption. You get a clear monthly overview of your electricity and/or natural gas consumption and how much it costs.
No More Advance Payments: Pay only for what you've consumed. Handy if your supplier ever ceases operations: you won't lose any advance payments.
Insight into Seasonal Effects: Do you heat with electricity or natural gas? Then you pay more in winter and less in summer. This gives you a fairer idea of your actual consumption and costs.
Convenient for a Variable Contract: With a monthly billing, you can more easily keep track of your consumption without complicated usage profiles.
Immediate Effect with Energy Saving: Consumed less? Then you see it immediately on your bill. Perfect if you want to reduce your consumption during expensive months or if you're abroad for a while.
📄 What's Included on Your Monthly Bill?
✔️ Electricity Consumption:
You see exactly how much electricity you consumed that month, with a distinction between day and night rates if you have them. This also gives you insight into how much you consume during peak or off-peak hours.
✔️ Natural Gas Consumption:
Your consumption is measured in m³ and converted to kWh (with the conversion factor clearly indicated). This lets you know exactly how much energy you've used.
✔️ Energy Cost:
The part of your bill that goes to your supplier. This price differs per supplier and depends on your contract.
✔️ Network Tariffs:
You pay these rates to get the energy to you. They differ per region, but we simply include them on your monthly bill.
✔️ Taxes:
The government levies taxes such as the energy contribution, special excise, and the Energy Fund. We neatly include this on your monthly bill, including VAT (usually 6% for households).
🔄 1 or 2 Suppliers?
Do you have the same supplier for natural gas and electricity? Then you get just one monthly bill. Do you have different suppliers? Then you get a separate monthly bill for each energy source.
✅ Conclusion:
With a monthly billing, you keep your energy costs better under control and never face surprises again. Smart saving and sustainable use of your energy: that's what we're aiming for at Ecofix!
